Willmott Dixon’s Training Academy in Birmingham includes multiple trade sets designed to assist members of staff as part of their training development. They include plumbing, electrics, window installation, plastering to name a few, and provides an insight into each of the skills required for such trades.
To facilitate staff members product knowledge, IKO have installed x5 roofing rigs at the training academy in Birmingham, which includes systems for:
- Armourplan (Single Ply)
- Polimar (Cold Applied Liquid)
- PermaTEC (Hot Melt)
- Permaphalt (Mastic Asphalt)
- Ultra prevENt (Bituminous Membrane)
Each system has an image graphic showcasing some of IKO’s prestigious projects.
The rigs, which were created by IKO’s Technical teams, include defects within them which are designed to test academy delegates and assist them as part of their training. They are to identify what the defects are within each of the systems which could include missing trims or trapped air within the system, or unprimed upstands etc.
IKO’s business managers also created presentations based on good and bad practice training and information regarding inspection criteria as well as storage of IKO’s products on site.
Following the training, the delegates are provided with handouts to encourage further training after they have attended the academy.
