Appley Bridge in Bloom!

Local employer IKO PLC has entered into the spirit of ‘Appley Bridge in Bloom’ with a display of flowers planted in what appear to be rolls of IKO roofing material. The display, at the entrance to the Apply Bridge plant, also features mini-wheelbarrows, filled with a fine display of foliage and flowers. IKO is happy to support the local community in the scheme, which helps improve the appearance of the village and increase awareness of and respect for the environment. IKO has also donated sponsorship to the general fund.

Eileen Longmore, from Appley Bridge in Bloom (pictured with IKO PLC UK Group MD Andy Williamson and Appley Bridge in Bloom volunteer Judith Nicholson) was delighted with IKO’s involvement. Eileen says: “We are really grateful for IKO’s support. It will make a big difference to the amount of extra planting we will be able to do around the village. And everyone we have met from the company has been so friendly and helpful!
