Mastic Asphalt, the Forgotten Solution?

It sometimes feels that this material has been forgotten by the industry but should be seriously reconsidered after all it was the original surfacing on the Forth Road, Humber and the Severn Crossing Bridges respectively and it is still installed onto bridge decks today as a waterproof surfacing with a life expectancy in the region of 25-30 years our last project being the A63 Selby Swing Bridge. it also has other generic benefits associated with longevity and our IKO Permatrack system has been installed on sites to repair patches and joints that are over 10 years old and are still performing well.

Mastic Asphalt material is accredited and manufactured in accordance with BS EN 13108-6 and is CE Marked and our IKO Permatrack system also has BBA/HAPAS Approval and is manufactured at our modern manufacturing facility at our Grangemill site in Derbyshire which is accredited to ISO Quality Assurance Scheme to BS EN ISO 9001:2000, BES 6001 Responsible Sourcing of Construction products, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and also operates Carbon Zero Standards.

Our IKO Permatrack system is an advanced bituminous surfacing repair and protection system for bridges, highways, infrastructure projects and flood defencesimple maintenance means lower costs, flexible, versatile and waterproof, the Permatrack system is ideal for bridge deck surfacing, bridge expansion joints, the reinstatement of ironworks, repairing reflective cracking in tarmac or concrete, transitional joints and for the protection of sea walls, embankments and revetments.
