IKO welcomes the introduction of the new industry Code of Practice for Ironwork Systems Installation and Refurbishment, published by the Road Surface Treatments Association (RSTA), which is good news for the industry. It should improve the quality, performance and longevity of installations and repairs to ironworks – a source of much public debate – and it will bring mastic asphalt to the fore as the material of choice.

IKO is a member of the RSTA, and our Business Development Manager Wayne Perrin has been actively involved over a number of years in the development of the new Code of Practice. The ‘right first time’ approach put forward is the message that IKO has consistently supported and promoted. The new Code will help to reinforce this message and lead to better and longer-lasting ironwork installations.
