Pour and Roll
Pour and roll roofing application uses reinforced bitumen roofing membranes that are fully bonded to the substrate with a hot bonding bitumen at around 240°C. The installation process typically requires two operatives, one pouring the hot bitumen and one rolling the membrane into the hot bitumen.
Bitumen roofing membranes have polyester bases for toughness and durability and consist of either oxidised or styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) modified bitumen coating with strong sealing qualities. The application of pour and roll roofing solutions is suitable for warm, cold and inverted roofs of both domestic and commercial buildings.
The reinforced bitumen membranes provide a waterproof and weathertight finish that can accept minor structural movements without cracks or other damage. The high resistance to tearing and robustness can accommodate installation and maintenance traffic. If regular foot traffic is envisaged, this can be included through the installation of specifically designed walkways.
Pour and roll roofing felts and membranes can be used in conjunction with a wide range of insulation. They can be installed as air vapour control layers (AVCLs), cap sheets in a variety of colours, or underlay for a range of roof build-up systems. Pour and roll products are sought out because they form an exceptionally strong bond to the substrate, which makes them a durable and reliable roofing solution choice. The resulting roof systems are cost effective, with a life expectancy of approximately 20 years.
