Mastic asphalt for flooring product range

Mastic asphalt can be used as an underlay or a finishing surface and can be specified for both internal and external use. It is suitable for small domestic applications such as schools, offices, hospitals or shop floors with fixed racks. Heavy duty one coat mastic asphalt flooring can withstand loads of industrial factory floors with frequent traffic including mechanical trucks and trolleys. The finish can be matt or polished. Some products used for decorative flooring feature exposed aggregate in a variety of colours. The flooring can be sand rubbed if a non-slip surface is required.

Installation of mastic asphalt requires heat, and the material can be delivered in blocks or melted down. The rapid curing times of modern mastic asphalts allow for the floored area to be trafficked as soon as it cools to ambient temperature. This is ideal for the refurbishment of buildings that are in use, such as schools and hospitals. In new builds, other trades can gain access relatively fast, helping to streamline the project scheduling.
