Polymer modified mastic asphalt solutions for road surface repair can be used for simple patch repairs but also for complex road reinstatement works. Increasing traffic levels and the severity of the weather in the UK in recent years means we see more frequent road surface damage, including cracks and potholes. These can cause a potential hazard for drivers and road users and if left un-repaired can be the cause of rapid road surface deterioration. Formulated mastic asphalt can accommodate the movement within the substrate and support the adjacent surfaces. Crucially its impervious nature protects the road substrate from deterioration by moisture and de-icing salts.
The flexibility and durability of the material allows for transitional joints between rail or tram lines and roads, for reinstatement or ironworks with high continuity between the fitting and the road surface, and the infill of cracks and potholes. Large, delaminated areas affected by standing traffic such as bus stops or areas with sub-base issues can also benefit from mastic asphalt road surfacing solutions. The fast installation and rapid curing times minimise road closures and the connected disruption to traffic.
