Bushy Wood Scout Camp
Bushy Wood Scout Camp in Eastbourne received the materials for the new roof in 2007 and 2008.
Bushy Wood Scout Camp in Eastbourne has presented IKO with honorary scouts badges and a certificate to express their thanks for free roofing materials donated to help re-roof the scout hut building.
Staff at Covers Timber & Builders Merchants Branch in Lewes helped organise the collection of the free roofing materials.
Branch Manager Derrick Taylor said; “We are delighted to be involved with a project that benefits the local community and which preserves our heritage for years to come. We were pleased to assist with the supply from our branch. As local stockists of IKO products we were the ideal way to get the roofing materials into the area. We also wish the scouts and guides at Bushy Wood the best of luck in the future.”
Steve Smith, Technical Engineer at IKO attended the event and received the award on behalf of the company. Speaking about the presentation Steve said; “It was a wonderful day and it was great to see all the scouts and guides enjoying themselves. We are delighted to be able to help local communities as part of our centenary celebrations and it was wonderful that I could be part of Bushy Wood’s own Centenary celebrations. IKO materials have been used to protect countless community buildings for the last century and will continue to do so for the next 100 years.”
The Fix That Hut campaign has helped projects throughout the UK. Bushy Wood Scout Camp has been central to the community for many years and provides an excellent base for the local Scout Group and Girl Guides.
