Modern formulated mastic asphalt coatings create a seamless waterproofing membrane that can withstand continuous vehicle traffic and protect the car park deck from the effects of chemical stress factors and extreme weather conditions, including rapid temperature changes. The resulting surface also offers a high standard of skid resistance and can be marked.

IKO manufactures several different mastic asphalt waterproofing and paving grades to ensure the client needs can always be met. All grades of mastic asphalt waterproofing can be supplied as nominal 20kg blocks ready to be melted on site, generally mastic paving requires the onsite addition of additional aggregate dependant on both the proposed thickness and project location. However, most car park and HGV service decks are completed using the IKO’s purpose built hot charge transporters which can deliver up to 18 tonne of material in molten form ready for immediate application.
